Can’t believe ESPN let this be published

Team A: 10-1, No. 6 strength of record, No. 56 strength of schedule, three wins by a TD or more over teams ranked in the top half of FBS, two wins vs. currently ranked teams, loss to a top-15 opponent.
Team B: 10-1, No. 9 strength of record, No. 58 strength of schedule, one win by a TD or more over teams ranked in the top half of FBS, two wins vs. currently ranked teams, loss to a top-15 opponent.
Extremely similar profiles, but you'd give Team A the slight edge, right? Well, Team A is Clemson. Team B is USC, ranked two spots higher and far better positioned to make the playoff if the status quo largely holds.

If they beat Notre Dame they have the common opponent over us. If Michigan beats Ohio St they have the common opponent over us.
LSU is still an outlier though.
We just need to take care of business and see what happens!

If Michigan beats OSU then they have the common opponent over us? That is not how that works my man.

I don't have an issue with USC being ranked ahead of us.

UGA, Oh St, Michigan, and TCU are deserving since they are undefeated. BUT LSU and Alabama sitting there with 2 losses is bs and they all know it.

Yes...they know it and they also know if Clemson is a one loss power 5 conference champion, they jump Bama, that one is obvious. If Dawgs beat LSU, LSU won't even smell the playoffs. If TCU wins out, they're in and we can't say a dang thing because we've been on the other side of that scenario. We need Ohio State to beat Michigan very soundly. We need ND or Oregon to beat So. Cal and they both likely will do that. But obviously none of that matters if we lose to the Shamecocks or Tarholes.

Let's don't talk smack yet....look what hapened to the Tarholes. They were running their scenarios and had themselves in the playoffs after beating us in the ACC championship game and then what....GT beats them.

Yep 2 loss teams definitively should not be up above a 1 loss power 5 team but it’s typical they being an SEC team. That conference seems to want their own league and as far as I’m concerned college football would be better for it. Why I cannot watch the ESPN talking heads including Gameday which I used to love. Gets nauseating after a while.

The west coast has been left out of the playoffs since

Oregon many years ago. This is a biased effort to be inclusive to any team from the west coast.
