it's not a bad idea, but that wouldn't be the ACC without Duke & UNC. Starting a new conference is a good idea in my opinion, but Wake should be left out as they don't have any fans and would add nothing from a TV contract standpoint.

Not necessarily. A conference with Clemson, FSU, ND, PSU/WVU (if not both), Miami would land a much better TV deal than what we have now with Maryland/UConn, Duke, UNC, Cuse etc.

WVU has been exposed for what they are - a very average program. PSU will be a shell of its former self by the time the probation is over. ND has yet to commit to be a full time member, and all that is IF Flordia State doesnt bolt - how much better of a deal would we get? Hard to say but based on where these programs are, I wouldnt expect a tremendous amount of leverage on the leagues part.

WVU could be having a bad year just like other perrenial top 25 teams have. Quit basing that crap on one season. If they come out the next 2 seasons and can't win 9 games then I'll concede your point. One season is not enough. Who says they couldn't have a 6-6 or 7-3 season in the Big East this season. No one knows.
