Cost him in the draft. Better switch to 1st base

haha. you have no clue what you are talking about. Countless incredible outfielders that had great careers in the league that didn't have strong arms. The sexy play at the plate or at third are plays that happen maybe once throughout a game. Its about getting the balls hit in the gap quickly, making amazing plays, and getting the ball back into the infield. Cam has a LONG career ahead of him as either a left or center fielder.

Exactly...he won't play RF. Surprisingly Willie Mays was known for being an amazing outfielder due tracking that ball, buy his arm wasn't that great.

You guys do understand he’s not even 11 months out from the labrum surgery, right? His draft stock is getting hurt because he’s not healthy and an MLB team is going to want to understand if damage is long term. The hitting is down with Priest batting .210 behind him. It’s not the Golden Spikes award type season we had hoped to see, but can see his competitive drive hasn’t suffered.

Let’s be real. Cam was never going to win the golden spikes. Cam could have the highest batting average at the end of the season and still not win. His homerun numbers will not let him win it. That doesn’t take anything from him. He is one of the greatest to lace them up here at Clemson. He is the most clutch player we have had since our golden spikes winner!

Wake challenged him on that fly ball to the fence in center by tagging up from 1st. Cam threw off his back foot a one hopper to the bag for the out.

It hasn’t even been a year since labrum surgery. He’ll be fine.

I used Golden Spikes “type” year, meaning he’d have a strong year and be included in the down selects (semifinals) or however they run that award. You are correct, he’s not what that award is looking for in the stats department.

I got you. I wasn’t bashing your statement because I agree. I kind of view the golden spikes like the heisman, the best player doesn’t always win. I think they do a little better than the heisman though. He definitely started off slow but has really come on the last 2 weeks. Another 2 hits today. I think he gets another 4-5 hits this weekend. He still may end up very high. I can see him getting his average to .360-.370 by the end of the year.
