Came across this nugget while reading about the Portal

There are more than 450 scholarship transfers in this current cycle who have been in the portal before. Most are looking to join the third team of their career, but some are now looking for their fourth.

Can you imagine just the logistics of it alone? The journey the parents must be on?

To paraphrase the great Jeff Goldblum 😂...they "were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should".

The ending of that statement is: where you are planted. Unfortunately there are no roots for this kids to bloom.

that I wouldn't make it to the NFL but was good enough to be a second team player I would transfer to some place like Stanford, Vanderbilt, etc., to finish out my degree.

Realistically, 90% of the Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, basically the players on the SEC teams that have been cheating for years, aren't going to graduate. Or if they do they come out with the magical Duke Sociology degree. NIL and the portal are perfect for this type of smart college athlete.

"As I watched the game yesterday I couldn't help but feel crushed. We beat Furman by 4 TDs, but to me it looked like we got whipped."

"George Bush, we are reliably informed by the media, has the IQ of a moron, though how he matriculated from Yale and Harvard or flew an F-106 will remain an unexplained mystery. Doubtless his father bribed the airplane to fly itself."

About two weeks after signing her head coach was fired. Immediately worried what was going to happen. Administration at that school has be great and think she is good. I hope she loves the place and spends all 4/5 years there and never has to hit the portal. Hoping to know new coach any day. This is a power 4 school so who knows.

They most definitely should. Many of these kids and families are getting red carpet treatment and basically free vacations for every visit. You'd be dumb not to take advantage. Especially as a young adult. Also, each new school is another bucket of NIL money. If I was a kid or kids parent I'd be doing everything I could to set my kid up financially for life as early as possible. With today's economy nothing's guaranteed...not even a degree from a major college

in 2023 signed with a new school. If they lose the scholarship at the school where they were, then what?
