Cade's run question?

Was Cade's 50 yd run a called QB draw or did he see an opening an take it?
I have watched it several times and it looked like he dropped back and then took off up the field with no intention of throwing. The line carried their men to the outside (not downfield) and left an opening up the middle like it was a called play. Either way it was a thing of beauty.

Looked like a QB draw all the way to me. He made a couple of nice cuts following his blocks for the 50 yd TD instead of a 10 yd gain

Moore blocking downfield was a big key to the score as well. Great job all around.

It was a called draw, and a GREAT call.
Plenty to complain about in the game, but you sound foolish trying to diminish the call there

Dabo says we called a draw.
“I think the ball was only about right at the 50, right at the 50. And we needed at least 10 yards to give us a chance to get into field goal Just give us a chance at a 57-yarder or so. And so we called the draw right there and it popped.”

Narduzzi says we called a draw and we’ve been calling draws.
“"Then again, we pitch a shut-out defensively in the second half until 1:36 in the game and the quarterback draw, which they've run quarterback draws. ”

Idiot boy, CK said it was a coaches call. You should have been watching the Tigers instead of the UofSC pre-game show on SUC Network.

Nothing wrong with the calls. Did not have the OL to be as efficient as we could have been. We were very limited in that we could not run the ball.
Players make plays. When they don’t that does not mean the calls were necessarily bad.

The calls were bad. Pitt was getting pressure and the calls didn't take advantage of it. We are very very very conservative with the lead... Not going for the ###### in the blitz packages.
No slants... Very few tunnel screens. No draws (mafah isn't a draw guy). No 2 man backfields and wheel routes).
Shall I continue?

The offense was run all day with that as the hole-card. I believe it was designed to gain 10-15 yrds and draw the secondary's eyes to free a receiver for a deep pass in the following play.
It was a masterful piece from the long setup to the execution and the downfield blocking which freed him to the endzone.
It changed my whole attitude toward the game. Pitt got out coached yesterday, embarrassed by one of the true masters of strategy. One man to beat and one man to block on that side of the field. That is not an accident!

He starts to say what play it was but sort of changes subject. He said "QB" and then said "coach called the perfect play". This leads me to think it was a called play. Maybe you younger ones with better hearing can go back and listen, i just tried lol.

pushing the DL outside and opening that hole. Mafah had a great block on their LB #31 Biles coming through the gap that let Cade take off. And TJ Moore did a good job of screening off the corner when Klub turned up along the sideline.

I saw it live and it looked like a called play to me.
Now, I have no way of knowing if Cade saw the defense with the light box and called an audible at the line. But, I am pretty sure he knew it was a run up the middle for him before the snap.
