2 horrible passes, and had another muffed exchange on a handoff. 3 bad plays. Other than that, he was darn good. It's CSU, and aside of 3 plays, he played like he should. Good game with more teachable moments.

I said that this game (2nd) half may be everything we needed to get the offense humming.
I'll say this and I don't know if it was that we were playing CSU or not, but Cade found Beaux. He needed to find Beaux against Duke but he never looked for him. I get the feeling that was a point of emphasis this week for Cade, but in general, he needs to settle down and go through his progressions like Mac said.

After being one of the highest rated QB recruits of all time was very memorable.
Higgins move and catch of the throw was classic as well. Back when receivers high pointed the ball on downfield passes. I miss the Nuk/Sammy/Mike/Tee days. We need Randal or someone to fill that role downfield.

That first TD play had more to do with Higgins than TL. Higgins had to make a grab and adjust, but maybe that’s what TL was trying to do.
As you’d expect though, more reps got him more comfortable. Hoping one more week to dial in the connections on offense will set us up well for the rest of this season, beginning with a game with 0 turnovers.

as they are so much in the spotlight. He made some dumb mistakes. He also regrouped and played darn well, they didn't get to him. Not sure how you can't like how he responded

Striper totally agree. My concern is he seems to make a couple if critical mistakes each game that cost us.
He’s trying to hard IMO. If he’d just settle down and eliminate the stupid plays, he’d be so much better.

I think we can appreciate he didn't let the gaffs get him down. That's what leaders and good QB's do. Move on to the next play

Agreed and they also learn from them. Hopefully he’s learned not to fling the ball up in desperation and take the sack. He’s not Trevor or Deshaun but he can be a very good QB. The team seems to look up to him.

I have it on good authority from folks on this board that TL and DW never made mistakes and every game they had a perfect passer rating

I think he has trouble with going through his progressions, as well. If we can get that fixed, I think he can be pretty darn good.

I agree but he also had 2 mishandled snaps. Not sure if those were on Cade or the center but they looked like he should have been able to handle them. He looked better in the second half. He just doesn’t look calm.
On the interception and the grounding, it just seemed like he lost his awareness of where he was on the field. On the interception, I think he was trying to throw it out of bounds but was too far from the sideline to throw it that far off his back foot.

Spot on analysis. Time and experience and I think he will be a very good college QB. His mistakes are fixable. He’s not overthrowing wide open guys by 10 yards or short hopping screen passes.
