Maybe he gets better but with this staff I am doubtful.

He has almost 0 experience as a college quarterback. He hasn’t practiced with the starters all year until the week before the conference championship game. And he’s being coached by a bunch of incompetent coaches.
This kid is incredibly talented. He just doesn’t have the players around him, nor the coaches that Watson and Trevor Lawrence had.

If anybody thinks Klubnik not a great QB, your totally clueless. He played his tail off tonight and got beat up when the line wasn't taking care of him. The stats are off the charts. Yes, he is a freshman and made a few mistakes but he will have a great career before he leaves Clemson. And, we just signed another 5 star QB. I really don't know what to say to people like you. Unbelievable

There will never be another Trevor Lawrence. He was close to NFL ready when he stepped on campus. Cade will need some development, but I don’t think there is anyone one this staff that can develop him.

Well our other great QBs were certainly lucky they weren't asked to throw it 50 times and play from behind the entire game for their first career start.

Cade was the number one rated dual threat QB last year. He was not given the reps that he needed because of the coddling of DJ. The young man was thrown into the fire tonight. Go back and watch TL16 at Texas A&M his freshman year. Cade is going to be a great QB.

Look, I'm with you on Cade needing reps, but you can't have this both ways. If he was as ready as you guys have been screaming about since week 4 it wouldn't have mattered how many reps he had before now. Cade's going to be good, maybe great, who knows, but you cant say he's ready then fall back on him not being ready because he didn't get reps. Being ready and not being ready are mutually exclusive.

Our whole staff and Cade will be better from this. This isn’t a championship year but Dabo said this decade will be better than last, and I believe him.

Who knows how TL would have played if his first career start had been against Alabama in the playoffs, instead of him having had most of a season of starts prior to that. Would he have been better or worse if he had been nailed to the bench all season behind Kelly Bryant before getting thrown to the wolves in the last game of the season? I realize its not a perfect analogy but to act like Cade would be the same QB today even if he had a season of game reps under his belt is silly.

No, people were saying he was ready. They were saying Dabo was playing Dj because of whatever current conspiracy theory was hot at that moment. If he was ready he would have been playing. Dabo has always said this. People were adamant Cade was ready. Now the same ones saying he was ready in week 3 are now saying he needed reps. Well was he ready or did he need reps? Being ready is one thing, needing reps, or development time, time with the first team or whatever else you want to call it is another. If you want to fault Dabo on not letting him share practice reps with the ones, do that. Just stop trying to have it both ways.

Cade needs to clean up the drifting and rolling out early(very typical of a freshmen with limited pt). The ints were desperation. Idk what you consider accurate, but the out routes and quick passes were pin point. I'll agree he's not going to be a guy you want launching it 50+ bc it does float on deep balls. He's going to be very good imo. Idk what you have against him.

The sad truth is this was possibly the best OL I have ever seen at Clemson. I think Austin will only get better and better and so will the OL. I'm excited for that group.
Jury is out for Wes imo, I'm not a fan of vic Koeing bend but don't break defense.

TN isnt known as a defensive juggernaut, therefore if we only had an OL...yes, he rolls out backwards & to the right but Cade had too much green grass on his jersey all night. Too much respect for TN offense with their top playmaker out led to bad decision to let Coach's son run fake FG. If he pitches the ball, we have 1st down...

Horrible take. Cade is going to be fine. Dabo's recent hires at coach have me questioning him WAY more than Cade. OLine was swiss cheese. Receivers/TE dropped things. Playcalls from coaching staff did not get Cade any protection, so of course he as running all over the field. Streeter? Sure, he can go. Grisham also. Way too early to tell anything about Cade.
