Cade and the NFL

1

Dec 21, 2024, 9:37 PM

Wouldn't be shocked at all to see him make a business decision here and declare. The QB draft class is extremely thin this year. Just looking at the board id assume Cade would be the 4th or 5th QB taken. Ward and Sanders would be drafted before him, but with Allar potentially going back for his senior season and Nussmier already saying hes sticking around it makes Cade's decision a tough one.

He could be he Heisman frontrunner with a big game

vs LSU in the opener.

He could also destroy his draft stock with a bad season. I mean it's a tough decision for him. Right now he's prob a guaranteed 2nd rounder.

How's he going to destroy his stock with what is returning next season on the offense side.

Next years schedule is going to be brutal.

Play all of the good teams in the ACC except Miami.

Not sure any ACC schedule is Brutal unless you are WF and have to play Clem, GT, Mia, Pitt, Louis, Cuse and whoever else. Should not be brutal for Clemson.

That also worries me, the class is so thin and Cade showed a lot to potential teams tonight. Clemson will have to pony up the NIL money to keep him.

With Air Noland in the portal I expect Dabo to ask Cade his plans sooner than later.

Klubnik said. "I just played my last football game with a lot of these guys so I'm not really thinking about me right now. I'm just thinking of all the relationships that I have built over the last three years. That's really what I am thinking about right now."

This is kind of a scary quote TBH

I think the fact that he's sidestepping the question is what's the most concerning to me. Like I feel like if it were me I would be like "I can't wait to get right back to work with these guys tomorrow and start building on what we can accomplish next season."

You think about is going to go after him if cade is leaving?

Yes. If Cade leaves Clemson will throw the $$$$ at Noland.

That's a valid point. I doubt Dabo goes after a QB that would push Vizz though.

If he tries to go to the NFL, it would be a HUGE mistake. He just had his first great complete game of the year against a good opponent!! He needs another year to show he can be a consistent performer…. I hope he’s smarter than that…

He threw for 3300 yards and 33 TDs and ran for another 500 with 7 TDs. Those are better numbers than Trevor's senior season.

But never against top teams…. He ran those numbers up on Wake, etc…. NOT READY YET! Unproven, although I see his improvement for sure…

He played a great game tonight against a really good football team.

Re: Cade and the NFL

Dec 21, 2024, 10:22 PM

Agreed, but that’s one…. Only one great game against top talent…. That’s not a trend. He needs more work, and could be really good if he returns making him a PROVEN winner…. If……….??

Re: Cade and the NFL

It is possible but I think most scouts are going to look at him as benefiting from another year. He can improve in areas like decision making which another year of seasoning would help.

I just don't think his numbers can really get much better than they were this season. Especially that TD/int ratio.

If Milroe doesn't declare who even is QB 3? Ewers is staying in college most likely.

Cade would be a top 5 qb if Ewers and Milroe come back. Just looked at the board projections.

Shedeur Sanders
Cam Ward
Jalen Milroe
Carson Beck
Quinn Ewers
Dillion Gaberial
Cade Klubnik

Re: Cade and the NFL

Dec 21, 2024, 10:01 PM

Cade has certainly improved by leaps and bounds and he would absolutely be a Heisman front runner if he were to return…

But if he declares and goes pro he is making a huge mistake. He is not ready for the NFL. His awareness or lack thereof will get him benched or killed or both. He needs another college year to improve on his awareness.

Awareness is a must have at the NFL level for any franchise level QB. A lack of awareness in the pros will get your head knocked off.

Here's another angle I just thought of. Tajh Boyd was in this same situation as Cade and went from a 1st to 2nd round projection in his junior to a 6th round draft pick in his senior year. Gotta wonder if Tajh is gonna keep it real with him.
