Campus tour with a future Tiger.

Our one and only child is hoping to secure acceptance into Clemson's class of '30.
She'll be a fourth generation Tiger if, Lord willing, it all comes together.
She was 8 the first time she stepped foot on campus (we lived in Texas at the time). We were walking to Nickerbocker's to load up on Clemson gear.
As we passed Riggs Field there on Old GVL Hwy, she said, "Daddy, I want to go to school here someday."
Years later, she met and was able to have a conversation with Dabo Swinney one night in downtown GVL.
That cinched it.
Which is why she won't countenance being a cack as a few of the family outliers have been. She sees life as a cack for what it is: a very hard path with few upsides.
This morning, we'll fan the flames with a campus tour. I can't tell who is more excited. It's probably me.

I hope her hard work will make her wishes come true. I remember taking the tour with my daughter and later my son. It was very special indeed. Enjoy the day.

My daughter and I took the tour and it cinched the deal for her. She felt at home at Clemson, was fortunate enough to get her admissions letter, and is a freshman now. Third generation! Go Tigers and best of luck today!

At least the chocolate hen could lay an egg, these days it would be worth a fortune in some places.

My Son probably visited Tigertown 1st time at age 2 or 3 since we lived in G’ville and had 4 football tix but it was around age 7-8 during a Spring football Saturday.
After enjoying the football scrimmage we visited ole Fike to see the new swimming pool addition..and director & two-time A-A Bonnie “Banks” McFadden saw me and said hello and then got down on one of his (bad) knees to be on Will’s height level and asked his name and showed interest.
Then, we left to see some baseball and Coach Danny walked by and said hello since he had remembered us from a Gator Bowl run-in..
And at that moment Will said he wanted to go to school here!
Wow..what a moment for the old man but I never pushed him towards Clemson..and yes, he attended and thoroughly enjoyed every year..even living in Johnstone his 1st year, working part-time at the Subway, meeting his wife there while a student and rabidly attended football games & concerts.
Good luck to you & your child bonding and with an Orange dream in hand!
Go TiGERs!
