just seems like there is a fundamental issue of tackling and also seldom being in position to make a tackle. bad pursuit or absence of it all together in cases

Walt- Dabo has $7.5M buyout & makes millions more than ADs

And even if Clemson let Dabo keep his salary, I'd be shocked if Dabo would rather be an AD than a coach at this point in his young career.

BV's job is more than just getting them in right alignment.

I don't think it's all BV's fault, but coaching (including Dabo, Strength & Conditioning staff, & defensive staff) surely plays a big part. If you want to see an excellent, comprehensive analysis of the many reasons for the defensive woes, check out this article. http://www.shakinthesouthland.com/2012/9/27/3414426/what-is-wrong-with-the-clemson-defense
Former Clemson DC, Vic Koenning, generated immediate defense improvement in the first year at every school he went (Clemson, K-State, Illinois, & UNC), usually with far less player-talent, so it's not like a good DC needs several years and future-NFLer-laden rosters to build a decent D (not necessarily a great D). Clemson doesn't have a decent D. http://www.tigernet.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=12835348#12835348

Might just be the players. Recruiting based on star rankings versus recruiting based on the best players that fit the scheme, Bobby Bowden's downfall.
Of course when the defensive scheme keeps changing ever 2-3 years, how can you hope to know what you're going to need to recruit for the next coach to come in and be successful?
Hopefull BV will be around long enough for a pastry to go with the complimentary Clemson defensive coach's gratis cup of coffee.

Mickey: when I bring up that Stewart has been mis-managed and wronged by the Clemson staff, I get ridiculed. However, by your comments above, you agree his lack of playing time are due to physical conditions so why in the heck was he not redshirted??? It seems blatantly obvious to me Dabo/Venables either don't think he will ever be an impact player so it really doesn't matter or are just plain stupid. Thoughts?
