home printer - what's yours?

I gotta buy a new printer and I'm tired of these inkjets that the ink constantly dries out or leaks or malfunctions. Money pit. I've never gotten close to my money's worth out of a printer.
I'm a very low volume user, don't print much, mainly a form or invoice from time to time. A calendar or itinerary to print for a trip or to handwrite notes on, or an instruction sheet to keep. I don't really need color either, don't print photos or need color pages. Just basic stuff.
I'm thinking spend the money to get a decent monochrome laser printer, the toner doesn't "go bad" like ink does.
Anybody gone this way?

I went years without one; I've only ever had 3 printers.
My first one was an Epson laser printer circa 1995. I had that thing forever-like 15 years forever. It was slow, but it printed well. I added memory to it so I could print PDF's. The cartridges were ridiculously priced (like $150 each) but I was at Wal Mart one day and found 2 of them on clearance for $15 each. I had that printer up until about 2010 when I got an HP Laserjet 4 from work. It had been rebuilt and had a built in network card. I kept that for a couple years until I either moved or it broke, then i didn't have one again until this year when my wife got a new job and they told her to send back her laptop but keep her printer. So I networked it in my office and have probably printed 5 pages on it since I got it.

I have a B&W laser printer with scanner/copier, etc...that was purchased in 2008 and still going strong. In it's early years, I was a heavy user...now, not so much.

Like you I don't print much, but if you do the Brother refresh service is a pretty good deal.

HP OfficeJet 8720. Total overkill for the amount I use a printer, but like you,
