He had just lost much of h is team to the portal...it giveth and taketh away...it is a cheap fix to buy non student athletes...some of you want to win at college football at any cost...shame on you Deonesque fans...want to be Miami or FSU or USC...I like the way Dabo & Co. Is doing it...or is it really all about the money!

So proud of, but very UNSURPRISED with, the results seen from OU this past weekend. BV is the real deal, and I am very excited that he is having success. If anybody deserves success, he does. He is a great human being who just happens to be a great football coach.

Yes BV is the man but you shouldn’t look at the Texas game like they play that way every week. It was their bitter, bitter rival and they lost to them 49-0 last year. Loads of inspiration and #### and vinegar.

We really miss T-bone on that defense, the boy can play just about any position. His being out hurts our versatility and depth. He’s a defensive leader with a lot of knowledge an experience.

Happy for BV that he is doing well. Yet another example of team building through the portal. Not saying Dabo should bring in 15 players a year, but 2 receivers and kicker would have done this team a lot of good.
That being said, Texas helped OU a lot with 3 turnovers. They will most likely play again in the Big 12 title game and I would give the edge to Texas.

BV had nigh no options after OU lost 60 to the portal in 3 years.

The only thing that saved OU & BV was a one-time waiver in '21 for '22, which allowed for an additional number of players, then a separate waiver lifting the cap for '23 & '24.
-60 to the portal is in addition to any other normal eligibility, graduation & early entry losses.

BV and OU likely would have difficulty even practicing fully, if not for the god sent, act of congress waivers, because ~50 would have been the max allowed prior to 2022.
The 2024 waiver has now been made permanent going forward as the 25 per cycle cap is gone, only the 85 Total scholarship limit will remain in FBS. The time frame for when a team has to be within that 85 limit is changed as well.

Texas learned as Clemson has that turnovers always trump talent.
To borrow from Dabo, "Texas was a coupla three plays away from winning that thing 30-27."
Which is to say Texas is the better team although the OU qb was on point. And it's almost always salty, fast, violent ball.
Hoping they'll both get to the title game so my Horns can square accounts with the filthy land grabbers.
Because TX/OU just means more.
And it'll mean even more next year!
Win right out if the gate or get thumped for a while, PUMPED to be in the SEC with the big dogs!
