Braves may have lost

But I'd rather see them lose in playoff than not be there.
Castellanos said in his post game interview when asked how they beat Braves last year and this year that there is a regular season and a playoff season. Maybe he was implying that Atlanta is a regular season team and Philly is a playoff season team.

That is a fact. Bobby Cox was not a post season manager. He managed a 5 or 7 game series as if he had 162 games to go.

I think that's kind of a ridiculous statement. When you make pitching calls and bad substitutions that's one thing, but Bobby knows ball. Baseball managers are the least important/impactful of all the major sports. Not even close to football.
Bobby was let down by continued lack of offense. He didn't leave pitchers in thinking they have another day to make up for it.
Same thing here. Can't blame a manager for starting his guys and giving up only 1 game with more than 4 runs scored on us. He can't bench any of those offensive guys that have been dominant. Just a bad series, better team regardless of the small example.

Cox often left pitchers in too long. Never played the series as if there was no tomorrow when he knew he had to win to stay alive or clinch the series. Atlanta's playoff series and world series won/loss record was abysmal. Used to watch every Braves game when Cox was manager. He was a great reg. Season Mgr. Terrible playoff/world series mgr. He had best pitching in baseball. Gavin, Maddox, Smoltz.

Contrast Cox's postseason managing to Joe Torre's.

Media tried to make it all about Acuna and he hit .143 in the post season.

After playing 162 games its hard to switch from a marathon to a sprint. The Braves have always struggled to get into playoff mode. It's a different mindset where every pitch is important. Philadelphia has figured it out.

Sorry if anyone is offended or are rolling their eyes by my comments but this reminds me of the Bobby Cox years when we went to the WS 5 times but only won one. Yes this is a different time with different players but the results are still the same and because I am a lifetime Braves fan I will never get over those meltdowns!! If a team can't carry over what worked best for them in the regular season to the postseason then what good is it to go to the postseason at all? In other words...I would rather see them not go to the postseason at all if they can't continue to do the things that made them great in the regular season!! There...I said it and whether you agree or not doesn't matter to me one iota!
