I don’t recall being a fan of a better team in any sport all my long ### life.

His 1 hot month doesn’t catch up to Acuna’s hot season. I guess ESPN just needs something to talk about to make that race even interesting.

Watch out for that best of 5 in the 2nd round. Tricky for any MLB team, like the Braves & Dodgers in ‘22.

They’re looking good - but pitching has been spotty at times - so the 5 game series concerns (above) are legitimate. But I hope they keep the mojo working! Go Braves!!

way back. Hank Aaron, Rico Carty, etc. Then in 1994 in the strike year, I watched an interview with Tom Glavine. He was a leader of the strike. They asked him... but what about the fans, the kids... are you really willing to cancel the season and crush their dreams? He looked directly into the camera and said - This ain't about the fans.
Oh OK. LOL. Without the fans, you'd be flipping burgers at Wendy's. I couldn't believe his arrogance. And you gotta admit, he has that fratboy punchable face like Laettner and Burrow. A lifelong baseball fan (me) just said F You buddy and never cared again.

Yes, there is that too.
However, I recall that each team had elected reps - which is why Glavine spoke for the team - so not sure about him bring a strike ‘leader’. I think he maybe should have chosen his words a little more carefully. Certainly can appreciate and understand your position.

The strike was when I quit watching MLB. Will attend a minor league game occasionally. Saw Adam Hackenberg play a couple times last year for Kannapolis.

Man, I miss the old Greenville Braves

Would go to 3 or 4 games a year. Saw a lot of the future big leaguers like Glavine and Chipper and Andruw Jones for a short time. My favorite was Mark Lemke. He wasn't loaded with talent and didn't have the best stats, but he hustled, rarely made an error, and was awesome at turning the double play.
There was an article in the Greenville news back then asking Atlanta players that played in Greenville what they thought about their time there. Lemke mentioned the old Thunderbird Inn saying they had the best food he had ever eaten lol. I ate there once and it was pretty good.
It broke my heart when the Braves left Greenville. It seems they wanted Greenville to build them a new stadium. Idk why, the one out on Mauldin Road seemed fine even if it was near the Sewage treatment plant. But then a new stadium was built for the Drive. I don't know all the details.

And it's MLB! Nothing is spectacular about a sport you only have to win a little over .500 to make playoffs. Only two teams in history of professional baseball have finished the season above .700 and only one in the last 100yrs, Yankees.
