It takes a special kind of mentor to cultivate, have the temperament and patience to incent a flower to bloom.

Those who so quickly dismiss Coach Swinney’s prowess in developing programs are fully aware of this now.

Like a dark train, the Lunatic Fringe continues rolling with its negativity and hatred for Coach BroWnell, one of the best coaches in the country. They will continue to hate. They will never appreciate. Let them go sniff football jocks.

Brad was supposed to have been a good coach when he came to Clemson, and for whatever the reason was he just couldn't recruit talent from the HS level. Dabo didn't change Brad, the transfer portal gave Brad a chance to pull the talent that he needed out of there for him to coach up!!! If the transfer portal hadn't become a part of college sports, Brad wouldn't have been our HC to have accomplished the things we've seen him accomplish these two past seasons...

Until BrownL can get the basketball team where the football program has gone, he is just a so so coach. And Dabo did it without the portal, so that argument don’t fly goober Keller.
Dabo is doing the right thing by mentoring Brad. Dabo wants all Clemson sports to succeed. Even basketball.

Something that no Clemson basketball coach has accomplished in the entire history of the program. Dabo took a historically top 20 program and made it a top 10-12 program. Brad took a top 175ish program and made it a top 30 program with the trajectory still rising. Wondering who you think made the biggest gains?

Won 23 games two years ago. You people keep forgetting that. Now 73 victories in the last three seasons. Averaging 19.4 victories per season. That's lofty stuff for Clemson basketball.

I like Brownell and support all Clemson sports. But you need a different argument than that. The coach before Brownell, Purnell, won 19.7 games on average per season. And three straight tournament appearances, that we lost in the first round everytime, and big reason why we changed coaches.
