We outplayed Duke. I’m not a ‘woulda coulda’ type guy but we really should have won. We drive right down the field running all over them multiple times inside the 5yd line twice on literally the 1 yd line and we commit some uncharacteristic mistakes. If we don’t fumble, I know we punch those TDs in, suck the life out of Duke, and roll the rest of the game. We have 2 cupcakes then the big one against FSU. If we beat FSU we’re right back in the national conversation and berthing left to play for. Let’s go!

We may have had some better stats but we certainly did not outplay them or TN. I agree with the moving on part.

this game was very similar to the game against UTenn to end our season last year. Also, we lost the 75% of our last four games. This is uncharacteristic.

that the mistakes did happen. One of the biggest improvements from TB to Dabo was making many fewer stupid mistake that cost you close games.
One thing too, Cade like to keep it on zone reads near the goal line. I wonder if that's why that first fumble happened.

Too True! Duke didn't win that game we lost it! If they can get momentum and beat FSU we'll be right back in it I am sure we read all the posts about how awesome we are and how great our receivers are, etc. and how everyone knew it all along

As a Clemson grad and Tiger fan since 1964, it saddens me deeply that so many within Tiger Nation are "glass half empty" people. Take a deep breath guys and gals! It's the first game. We played our worst game in 7 years. But we've got great talent. All the talk about the 'Transfer Portal" is ridiculous. Duke played one 4 star player (high school rating). All the rest were 2 and 3 star players. Yes, they outplayed us. As Dabo often reminds us, "We are everybody's Super Bowl." Duke played their butts off. And they deserved the win. But I, for one, don't want Dabo to go to the portal to take in 2 and 3 star players whose feelings have been hurt that they didn't get to start at their previous school. If we take them in and they don't start for us, they'll transfer again next year. Seems to me Dabo has earned our patience. In the history of Clemson University, we've had 3 National Championships in football. Two are under Dabo's tutelage. He hasn't forgotten how to coach and he still likes to win. So let's wait till the end of the year before asking for his head on a platter. And let's support these players. They want to win worse than we do. They are the one's who have invested their blood, sweat and tears. As a good friend of mine once said, "It all looks easy with a hotdog in your hand." So lighten up. We can still achieve every goal but one. Just keep the faith. Go Tigers!

You are aware that Duke has 15 players from the portal on their roster, correct? To your point, they have (1) 4*. They use the portal to supplement their gaps and add to their depth. The portal should not be demonized. It is a tool that most programs, elite and non-elite are taking advantage of.
I don't look at the portal as something that fixes all of our issues. I just think it is a tool that could help address some of them.

Duke Defense almost outscored Clemson Offense when Clemson Offense had the ball in the Red Zone.

The only thing in front of us is being embarrassed by FSU. I think our only hope in that game is if they are too full of themselves and don’t take us seriously.

Not scared of FSU at all. And neither are we. Our defense is legit, our offense has enough to win. We laid an egg Monday. We will take ALLLLL the hate we’re getting and prove it against them. I’m not writing us off until after that game.
