good perspective from a player who was a true DOG at Clemson. Basically, called out Barrett Carter for saying that he wasnt in shape for the first game, said it was just weird for a veteran to be that unprepared. Also, questioned whether or not Wes G had the personality to call out the Defense.
Now, I would be on board with bringing him and Skalski back as Assistants! We need some DOGs back!!!!!

That was a whole team of dogs. This team does not seem like there are any dogs. Maybe he's right that BV was responsible for that mindset. In the pros I could see the laid back style working but in college I think you need a little fire.

Coach Eason could be the brute force we need to fire up and call out the team.
Would be cool to have him as Co-DC and be that presence that BV used to be in the sidelines and move Wes upstairs to be the brain - at least on paper it seems like a good idea.

and his feshmen pups are all top Defensive Line Men that should be starting over Ruke and Tyler Davis.
XT is the only DOG in that starting line up
the DBs are violent too. they just get made to look bad because the line and LB is soft

Don’t want him as a coach but would like him as a hype man, let Wes make the calls into Boulware a headset or something. Somebody’s got to have fire on the sideline it looks like a funeral out there

Really telling interview and we definitely miss that kind of player-leadership.
I also thought the comments about Venables were telling. I believe strongly we miss him more than on just the defensive side of the ball. I believe he brought intensity and accountability into the building that made everyone better and that he was one of the few experienced and intense enough to challenge Dabo and get him out of his echo chambers. Every good leader needs someone who will tell them when they are heading down the wrong path, and I don’t think Dabo has that on this staff. He has a bunch of yes-men.

In a discussion on Ellis Tolbert's Twitter Spaces last season, Ben made similar comments about lack of player leadership. He also said that BV would have quickly called out the defense and gotten things fixed.

Do those two DOGS have any eligibility left? They were outstanding players, but that does not always translate into great coaches. But might be worth considering.
