Saw them several times at the old Cellar Door in D.C. Ignore “Afternoon Delight” and they had some pretty good music back in the early 70’s. Bill and Taffy Danoff had great harmonies. And Taffy was smoking.

always been creeped out by that weird keyboard music and Jim Morrison's monotone voice. Since boyhood, don't really know why. Other same-era similar sounding bands I'm OK with. Just them. Psychosomatic perhaps, maybe something traumatic happened to me as a kid with their music playing. This is TRUE HATRED I'm talking about, their music makes me fly into a anxiety attack. If one of their songs comes on in a store/restaurant (which is very rare thankfully), I have to leave. Has actually happened several times.
Comparatively, every other band is tolerable. I strongly dislike "bands" who don't play their own instruments and/or lip-sync (Madonna, boy bands, and ilk). And there are other bands I dislike, but no other is pure hate like The Doors for me.

Wow... that's pretty strong. LOL. They're certainly not one of my all-time faves, but I really liked a lot of their songs back in the day. Light My Fire, LA Woman, Love Her Madly, etc... not the darker stuff they devolved into. I think it's just a case of "you had to be there". I'm talking about the late 60s and a transistor radio...
For ex, I despise 99.9% of all rap & hip hop. Just cannot get into it. At all. I almost have a visceral reaction to it. Generational thang, I guess...

than a Pink Floyd album. But musically and lyrically it's a strong album with a lot of depth. It just envelopes me when I listen to it. I have to listen to the entire album as a whole, it's really how it stands up and what makes it great.
