Big Ten is our way out of the ACC

I am not adovcating we leave for the Big Ten. I would rather head to the SEC, but if the choice is Big Ten or ACC, Big Ten every time
Given that ESPN picked up the TV option as expected, it seems we are locked in for a while. Think about this from the ESPN/ABC angle. They already have the TV ratings that our school brings, so they wouldn't gain that much from us moving to the SEC...maybe a modest bump just because we are playing more football schools in the SEC. But they do have a vested interest in not letting the ACC implode. So status quo is in their best interest
And lets be honest here, the ACC isn't calling the shots. ESPN/ABC is, the ACC is merely their proxy.
That is where the Big Ten comes in. IF (big IF) they really thought that Fox Sports/B10 could be interested then they have something to lose 100% of, our ratings. Clemson needs to use the B10 as a stalking horse here. Make a big push to the powers at the B10 & Fox so we at least create the potential of a doomsday scenario for ESPN. That would be that the courts bust open the GOR, Clemson and FSU are relatively free to leave and possibly take our ratings to Fox Sports.
Just a half-baked random thought...

both the SEC and Big10 have like 18 teams already.. how are they expecting to add 2, 3, or 4 more teams? These conferences need to subdivide or something.

The SEC only has 16 teams with the recent additions of Texas and OU.

Neither the Big10 or SEC aren’t interested to expand. This past season made it clear they have to digest the size of their conferences. The only thing that will expand them further is figuring out new scheduling strategies and their tv partner adding more revenue. That likely doesn’t happen until the next contract negotiations. If Clemson and FSU get the conference to agree to a lower exit cost by 2031 then that’s the best solution that was available. The lawsuits would have achieved that necessary change. The revised revenue agreement may provide an adequate bridge to the future financially.

Maybe they are, maybe they arent. No one here really knows
But I'd bet the SEC would all of a sudden become interest if their overlord ABC/ESPN told them to be interested because they don't want to lose Clemson's ratings (and FSU and UNC). We all think Sankey and Petitti are driving the bus. They arent, ESPN and Fox just merely gave them a toy steering wheel

The problem is, you're making a big assumption about how much Fox and ESPN really care about getting Clemson and Florida state.

Actually I am only making an big assumption about how much Fox/B10 care about getting Clemson (and Florida state), which is why I said "Big IF". LOL
ESPN already has us and its cheaper to keep us in the ACC than it is to allow us to get out and go to the SEC.

It doesn't appear leaving the ACC will be happening anytime soon. I was concerned when we started hearing less and less about the lawsuit.

I wouldn’t read too much into that. It’s a war of attrition, coverage on this has more to do with filling slow news weeks than breaking new developments.
That being said, our path to breaking away doesn’t look great atm

Why can't these Gomers be satisfied instead of trying to make Clemson into a USck with academics...we would likely be 3rd class citizens in the SEC...per EARS!
