Big Recruiting Update

May 17, 2021, 9:54 AM

It has been almost a week since our last update and recruiting does not stop, so let's stop wasting time and get started.

-I have said on multiple occasions that one part of Clemson's board that has yet to crystallize is DE. One guy that Clemson has been on longer than anyone is DE Jihaad Campbell. Campbell recently jumped over 300 spots in 247's last rankings update, but one of their scouts said that may not even be high enough for him after watching IMG's Spring Game. Remember that Campbell plans on coming to Clemson on June 8th. Other teams involved are Georgia, Texas A&M, Florida, and Oklahoma.

-In my last update I talked about Clemson's running back situation where they have only offered two guys. First ,Branson Robinson plans on attending the Elite Retreat as I have told you multiple times and Georgia remains the favorite and will get the first visit in June. There is a recent feeling; however, that if Robinson comes out of that weekend uncommitted it is game on between Clemson, Bama, and UGA. Clemson has been on him longer than anyone and CJ has been putting work in here, good signs in that recruitment.

-I also mentioned Clemson target Trevor Etienne. I said that he had not advancement his recruitment in months and while a lot of people liked LSU, I thought that they had a few guys higher, and it would be who out of LSU, Clemson, UGA, and Bama made a push for him would have the best shot. Well he now plans on being at the Elite Retreat. LSU is not expected to get a visit which is obviously very significant. Alabama plans on getting a camp date while UGA may also get one as well. Now we have a better picture for who is pushing.

- I told y'all last week, before any other service, that in state class of 23" OT Monroe Freeling was going to camp at Clemson on June 11th. Now his teammate Jacob Ashley will camp on the very same day. Another in state OT Markee Anderson will visit Clemson on June 5th.

-Another class of 23" QB will make there way to Clemson on June 2nd in Cameron Edge out of Md. As of now he only has camp dates scheduled to Clemson and Ohio State.

-A class of 23" WR that has caught Clemson's attention is Braylon James out of Texas. He plans on visiting Clemson in late July. Other schools appear to be higher right now but Clemson has not pushed. I have also mentioned Nathaniel Joseph as a guy that Clemson has had their eye on. He and his teammates plan on checking Clemson out on June 11th, just a changed date there.

-Speaking of 23" WR. The state of NC seems to have a freak in it next class in Noah Rogers. Rogers will camp at Clemson on June 6th. UNC and NC State have pushed early there.

-Another name to watch at RB for this cycle is Demond Claiborne out of Virginia. His season was cut short so he has limited exposure but nonetheless he has caught Clemson's attention and plans on camping here at a date TBD.

-Another DE from this class has made plans to camp at Clemson in hopes of securing an offer. Mario Eugenio out of Florida will camp at Clemson on June 2nd and UGA later that week before official visits to Iowa State and Michigan.

-Last update I said that Clemson wants to take a kicker and the #2 overall kicker Will Bettridge was camping at Clemson June 4th. I told you another name to know was the #1 overall kicker Alex McPherson. McPherson plans on camping at Clemson,on June 4th or 5th as of now. His brother, who played at Florida, was just drafted the 5th round and he has strong ties to Auburn, so this one would be difficult.

-Class of 23" QB Dante Moore out of Michigan expressed interest in visiting Clemson this Summer, along with a number of other schools. Big time talent that Clemson would love to get to a camp.

-READ: I had previously told y'all that Jaren Kanak out of Kansas was getting a serious look at Clemson to fill the LB spot. Kanak posted a 10.3 100m time making him one of the fastest players in any position, and that has Clemson and a lot teams interested as his stock has blown up recently. I can tell you; however, that if Clemson were to offer it may be a commit on the spot type of deal. He will be at Clemson June 1st in hopes of getting an offer. He has the potential to play safety purely based on his speed as well.

-Have a great week Tigernation.
