Venables isn't giving anything away to Awbarn. He probably won't name starters until the coin flip. LOL!

Shut up, it's because Sammy is out and when he returns, Peake will be behind Nuk or Humphries

Many don't understand that there actually are some who are very gifted players, and who make a huge contribution to their teams, that get overlooked in the recruiting process, or maybe they develop a little later in their lives. Dabo was one such player, and so was Jim Stuckey, who I believe wound up an All American and a great Pro with the 49ers. It does happen, though it is the exception. I'm glad those guys get a good look from the coaches.

I can't wait to see Lateek Townsend play. How much field time does he get against AU?

Teek is a beast but he still doesn't have a great grasp of the offense. He's very much a high risk hig reward player. He could make an amazing play in the backfield but could also get caught where he's not supposed to and give up a big play. Still on rush downs or when Venables feels like bringing pressure Teek will most likely be in and will get the call to rip the QB's head off

I don't care who it comes from. I think just about everybody on this D is capable of it. Like you said(Drobins) I just hope we don't give up the chump playing trying to do so! I'm really confident in this defense and think we have what it takes to turn some heads again!

Compared to last year's team this is a group of grizzled veterans (except for the D line).

I wonder if we will actually try to have Nuke return punts. Last year we never tried to block the kick or set up a real return. Fair catches every time.
