I read on another website that former Tiger great Bennie Cunningham is at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio fighting for his life and could use some prayers.
If you are so inclined you might keep him in your thoughts/prayers.

What a great guy! I sat next to him in Botany my freshman year. I pray that he will fight like a tiger and overcome this evil cancer and have many more years with his family. I am lifting you up in prayer, Bennie!

Funny story about Benny. I used to be in the restaurant business in the mid 1980's. Benny and his wife would come in and eat with us fairly often. He would put down a huge cut of prime rib, maybe have a few drinks, just enjoying life in a good way. Then a few weeks later I would see him on TV doing interviews of how hard he has been working out during the Steelers off season. He was so blessed with all the qualities a great athlete desires I don't think he was working out at all. He was just a great specimen. He and his wife were both very nice and gracious.

thought Bennie put Clemson on the path to the big time.I was very young in 1974 but I remember my brother talking about the games he went to that season and how great Bennie was and how he would drag defenders downfield after a reception.Later on years down the road I came to understand that the 74 season was pretty important in the grand scheme of Clemson Football (Bennie became an All American in 74 and I heard stories that the Valley was packed to the brim for the Georgia game.).I assumed that Bennie's great play that year and the teams' success helped bring in the recruiting class of 75 that really got the ball rolling for the program.
