He still drives the same Toyota 4Runner he had at Clemson, with 160K on the odometer. Now that he has won $2.3 million (and counting) this year on tour, maybe he can afford an upgrade.

I followed Ben on the back nine in Charlotte on Saturday where he was paired with Henrik Stenson. Ben outplayed and struck the ball better than Stenson, who is a top 10 rated player. Ben birdied 10 and 11, left his birdie putt on 12 hanging on the lip, missed a 5 foot par putt on 13 (which he rarely does), drove the par 4 14th with a 325 yard drive and then three putted. He missed makeable birdie putts on 15, 17, and left his birdie chip on 18 hanging on the lip of the cup. He shot a 70, but it easily could have been a 66 or 67. Such is golf.

Not necessarily frugal. Maybe he's being wise in managing his earnings - unlike most athletes who blow them in a hurry.
