James agent called me once to do some work for James. Told him I was scheduled in for 3 to 4 weeks. He said James will pay 3 times your normal rate if you can come on. I said what time does James want me there tommorrow

I did not meet James Brown but I did see him in Augusta Ga
Was working a shutdown at international paper and my gf turned wife came down to visit
We had dinner and she wanted to ride around downtown Augusta to see it
We turned a corner and there was a big window lit up and looked like a radio studio on a corner building
James Brown and Al Sharpton were in the window doing a radio thing
I said thats James Brown
Wife said i didnt see him
So we went around the block and by the time we got around the pair were on the sidewalk
I slowed to a creep and rolled down the window
We started singing “I feel good nananana”
Ol James just lit up with a big smile and started laughing
Al Sharpton looked like he wanted to shoot us

A bass player in a couple of bands I was in played trumpet for JB on a couple of his demos. I have been out to his place a number of times before 2003. I only live like 7-9 miles from JB's old place.
