We are very selective in who we offer, unlike most schools who cast a broad net of offers then pull back when they find someone better.

missles because of great athleticism, and being a dominant talent compared to the majority of talent in the state. talent and athleticism will only get them so far at the next level and they have got to have the mental ability to play for Clemson now because of the level of our play. unfortunately, we can name so many LB's from SC who didn't make the impact for Clemson that was desired and needed... South Carolina just doesn't produce as many ready made blue chippers so these decisions have to be made to target the best available that fits the Clemson profile and not just offer the ...

and those two are just a couple of the couple of dozen that can be named...
we are beyond the days of offering the best that the state has to offer simply because they are teh best that the state has to offer and battling the cooters for them; we want to stay in the national discussion, so recruiting has to reflect that standard...

Read the other reply posts. It's seems evident we need a LB and the other target is not promising, or we project a loss to the draft.

was his 2nd. Our recruiting is at a point where we can focus on proven commodities. He is now. Hence the offer. It be real interesting to see how many offers the coots have extended compared to us. I'm willing to bet twice as much or more. They have to though.
