There used to be a good, big BBQ restaurant in Pendleton that was owned by the Quattlebaums. Not sure if it's they're anymore, haven't been there in about 20yrs.
Anyone remember the name or know if it's there still? Online searches are just bringing up the Smokin Pig for me.

Are you thinking of the buffet Just More? I think it closed, sadly. Nothing like a BBQ buffet and bluegrass.

I was in Pendleton today seeing my dentist (Clemson Grad).
Clemson is growing amazingly fast. Even with most students gone, traffic is heavy. It is growing both toward Seneca and Anderson. Every national food chain is near. Many of the old local ones have gone.

When I was a student in the late 80s, I remember both Professor Bob Mixon (Spanish) and Dr. Louis Henry (English) talking about how Clemson had lost its small town feel.
They missed the quiet streets and the locally owned restaurants. Both of them grew up in Clemson.
They both passed away in the last decade...but I suspect they wouldn't even recognize Clemson anymore.
I've got mixed feelings about Johnstone being completely gone now, and its weird that students today don't know what the "loggia" is/was. But in my opinion, most of the changes to campus hav been nice.
The growth in the city and the traffic is another story...

Sadly, Just More closed. Pendleton is rapidly losing its small town charm IMO.

"Back when", the closest liquor store was there. Concrete block place with boxes of booze stacked on the floor.
