We have a top ranked SOS and it shows most for what we have left. There’s never easy wins in ACC baseball, but the opponents coming up include ND, NC St, BC. (top-10 team), Louisville, and UNC. With non conference teams like UGA twice and Coastal for the 2nd time.
I expect at least 30 wins by end of season, but with our schedule helping us a lot in RPI, we may have it easier for postseason selection.
That said, this team is well good enough to prove itself and find a spark. Records really don’t matter in college baseball as long as you get into a regional.
Sounds delusional.

Yes, I agree, sounds delusional but I hope your delusions are accurate.

That’ll be good enough record and rpi to get us in

Conference standing matters though. ACC will get 8, maybe 9. We need to be in the top 8 to have a legit chance without winning ACC tourney.

What if finish out of top 8 and make ACC Champ appearance with Loss?

Solid bubble team at that point. Wouldn't bet it either way. Would greatly help if teams between us and top 7/8 were teams we didn't play and had worse rpis and sos. I do believe we have a shot at making it this season. A sweep against Notre Dame would dramatically improve those chances.

Winning 3/4 this week would be huge. All 4 would be huge. 23-14 doesn’t sound so bad with an RPI in the low 30’s. I will say this, If we’re sitting around 8th or 9th in the ACC they’re only going to take so many from the ACC regardless of how many are deserving so we better have some good wins.

The ACC got 9 in last year which I believe was both a record for the ACC and tied the record for most from any one conference. We had an RPI of 39th but finished the season 12th overall in the ACC. And of the 11 teams in front of us, only Pitt (11th due to tie breaker against us) had a lower rpi. Btw - I know the ACC doesn't officially seed teams this way, but for practical purposes this is how we would be ranked in front of the committee. Our OOC schedule is shaping up much nicer than last year - 100th last season versus 15th so far this year.

The biggest thing you hit on is the The nonconference strength of schedule. That’s huge. South Carolina is really helping there and tbh I hope they continue to. Sounds bad to pull for Carolina but man I’m so ready to make a regional again I don’t give a crap how we have to get there. It’s not like scar is gonna win it all anyways so idc about their success if it helps our bottom line? It would be one thing if we have had a lot of recent success, but we haven’t and I’m ready for a regional

What scares me about the bubble is watching what happened to nc state last year. They went 36-21 and got left out and this was after going deep in omaha the year before. I’m sure their SOS must’ve been terrible but man that’s a good record to be left out

NC State also made the ACC Championship game against UNC. Very weird.
It’s harder to evaluate and discern who’s better in college baseball compared to football and basketball. There’s such randomness that likely makes the selection committee make a lot more errors than other sports.

They were 10th and 1 game below .500 in the ACC. Put them in that First 4 out category. Their rpi was 35 but they had the 190th non-conference SOS.
