Barrett Carter

I really feel his best football is front of him. Had he played under Venables, there’s no doubt in my mind he would have had a Isaiah Simmons type career at Clemson. He progressively got worse under Wes’ tutelage.

How about playing the nickel in the NFL? That might work?

They just aren’t being coached up

I’ve got faith that Dabo is going to correct this in short order

I 100% agree he will be a better pro than college player.

He misses his assignments VERY frequently. Not good discipline.

He played last night like he was more concerned about staying healthy. He looked as though he had zero interest in the game. Lack of heart cannot be blamed on weslicheck!!! Boy that nickname didn’t pan out

I couldn't agree more, he can't tackle or read the offense at all, he was so fluid and natural his 1st 2 years but he is our weak link now, really sad, Wes and Conn have destroyed our defense.

Carter although a nice fella has not played well this season. Playing to not get hurt is my opinion. Seems these players are not being inspired by Wes. Need to bring in a new CO DC and let Wes get in the booth and become CO FC. Need someone to inspire these players.

His most easily recognized good work was when he played a role that was heavier on LOS play and blitzing.

Not so easily recognized for his excellent play was when in a role that emphasized pass coverage. Barrett Carter is an excellent pass coverage LB and will have value in the NFL because if this.

He’s also very good when on the punt coverage team. Very fast.

Combine will tell the story. Your saying he's fast. OK, then he needs to run a sub 4.6 to have a place considering his weakness as a tackler. Tanner Muse is 6'2" and 227 lbs. He ran a 4.41 at the combine. He's a flat out head hunter when it comes to tackling but he could get out of position at times. He's spent most of his NFL time on practice squads. Carter is 8 lbs heavier, not as good a tackler, and won't sniff a 4.41. Don't see him making a 54 man roster due to his tackling ability but we shall see. Ben was an All American but his foot speed and stature didn't even allow him to be drafted. We will know shortly.

Love him in college, but probably not big enough or fast enough

to be an impact player in the NFL. But I hope I'm wrong and he's an all pro.
