Won’t be the last if they can’t produce some offense. The offense this series was pathetic. There’s no other way to sugar coat it. The pitching wasn’t horrendous. It could have been better, but if can’t score that doesn’t matter all that can do is keep games close. I am not sure at this point in the season there are any answers on offense.

NCS got more 2-out hits with RISP in the 1st inning of Game 1 on Thursday than we got in 3 games; scoring 8 runs in 3 games is not gonna win a regional, much less a super regional, IF we even get to one. Depending on results of UNC and GT games this weekend, we could be 5th in ACC going to FSU ??!! Bakich should have changed up lineup today….ie. benching Gaffney’s #### as he did nothing all weekend at plate or in field; his only change other than switching out DHs was putting in a RH batter PH, Dillard, in place of RH batter Chrighton with 2outs in 9th innning of game 3, why not McLaddie or Bisseta, lefties to face RH pitcher ?? Gotta play better last 3 series in ACC or we will not see a double bye in ACCT !!!

The problem is there are no really good options on the bench. No one on the bench is going to be any better than what’s playing, but I do think he needs to change up the batting order.

Big difference going on the road, this is good for them to wake up now instead of in the postseason!
They’ll rebound and be better for getting their butts spanked!

Thursday night went way beyond poor pitching - as I sat there behind the Tiger

…dugout, I watched the players, and I said to my wife, “these guys just don’t seem to want to even be here playing this game”.
After leaving Thursday’s game, my wife continued to implore me to keep faith in this team to get to Omaha.
I had to explain to her that what we saw was a team that was abysmally overrated, from top to bottom, and it would be a miracle if they won one game against NC State. This team has foundational problems that prevent them from competing at this collegiate level.
I have no idea what the rankings were seeing to elevate this team to #2 in the country, I don’t care what their record is/was.
Frankly, after seeing this series sweep by the Wolfpack against the Tigers, if I were a betting man, and I am not, I would not bet a dime on the Tigers getting out of the regional, much less a super regional.

I noted after yesterday's lost on how opposing teams seem to consistently manufacture runs with 2 outs...I know there are stats to prove why, but are we predictable on the pitch call with 2 out. It's something I have noticed more so this year. What say you?

I do. Out the gate we went out west and beat the 2 teams who were picked 1 and 2 in a great b12 league. Then swept the cawks with both hitting and pitching. As we now know, cawks are bad.
Then two very impressive series wins with wake and ga tech, both of those teams were picked high in the acc.
Was winning every mid-week games and an amazing streak of series wins and that was with a depleted pitching staff. No reason to believe with our record and better pitching on the horizon that this is a quality team... at least on the outside.
But myself and many others that have watched every single pitch realized we were getting a lot of help from the other teams pitching with freebies... two edged sword, one it was good plate awareness and patience, but it covered up our offense woes when we run up against a pitcher that won't give us those freebies. We saw that in this series.
As the season has progressed, wake has fallen way off and ga tech/Louisville seem to be fading too. Plenty of baseball left and I'll continue to watch every pitch. At the same time, realize our initial schedule may not have been as tough as first thought.

Disappointing weekend for sure. It seems every year that NC State gets hot late. This four week stretch won’t help with the deficiencies. There’s a huge gap with OBP and LOB. It is abysmal. They have no problem getting on base but can’t create runs. It may not be something that can be fixed this year. Either way the year isn’t over and they were gonna lose a series in this stretch. FSU is gonna be tough next weekend. Fine by me if the whiners just go ahead and stop watching.

...you are correct, my little grasshopper, but lest we forget from a defensive stature, constantly giving your opponents runs with two out is like walking on hot coals in your most expensive Nikes...not good for one's sole!
