During the 2018 season we played BC in November where we only scored 27 points and 7 of those were on a punt return for TD.
We followed that with an incredibly slow start en route to scoring only 35 against Duke the next week.
Please tell me against how this year's offense is so much different than the one we had last year.

Yep, and we also got off to a slow start on offense against ND as well. In the BC game that you mentioned, we were only up 13-7 at halftime.

Last year in TL's 12 games as "the starter" he had 5 300+ yd passing games & 7 250+ yd passing games
This year in 9 games he's had 1 300+ yd passing game & 3 250+ yd passing games
for whatever reason him (and others in the media) fail to recognize that he's essentially only playing maybe +/- 2 & 1/2 quarters per game.

Plus, we have gone more to our running game. I'm too lazy to dig out the numbers comparing number of passing plays and running plays for 2018 versus 2019. In the Clemson/Wofford game we only ran 64 plays total, 37 rushes and 27 pass attempts. Never mentioned in the national press is the fact we utilize so many players in a game, the starters never playing the majority of the game. Over 100 players saw action in the Wofford game.

Last year McElroy was much worse. When he was teamed with that other SEC shill, Taylor Zarzour the two of them had a 3 hour Bama love-fest every morning. This year Kannell checks him on his SEC stupidity and that causes him to have to keep it a little less obvious.
Yeah, last year he couldn’t shut the hell up about Quinnen Williams. Even right up to the national championship game he went on and on about how unblockable QW was and how Clemson’s offensive line was “just okay”. Remind me again how many sacks TL took and how many sacks TT took in that game. I believe it was something like 0-4 and Tua was under constant pressure being flushed from the pocket.
McElroy is a great analytical mind as long as it doesn’t involve Bama or any other SEC team. If it does, then he totally loses his mind.

Folks who aren't day to day, week to week fans have a misconception about last year's offense. (Many here do also).
The defense carried the team the entire 2018 season. The offense figure things out on the fly and did well enough. When the offense peaked against ND and Alabama, people forgot things weren't always so perfect.
Holding the 2019 offense to the standard of the two CFP games is not a fair way to assess things.
