The past few years, is XT a day 1 starter at DE? Does he have that type of talent?
That's assuming bryant leaves early.

Yes. To be honest it sounds like a question a jealous coot would ask.

Really? What's wrong with the question?

We all know he's supremely talented...there's no doubting that. I'm just curious if he's Dex-like at SDE next year. Where he steps on campus and he's either a starter or the 2nd man in.
No cootish behavior here.

I wouldn't pencil any freshman in on our DL. Depending on how the season unfolds for Ferrell and Bryant. Will either of them put themselves in position to be a 1st rounder. That leaves talent, potential and experience at both spots regardless. We would still have Yeargin, Register, Kelly and newcomers Foster, Williams and Rudolph.

Is this some type of personal squabble between you all?
Not sure y that question would be a jealous coot question. Anyway, yes he should be a day 1 starter. I would think anyone worthy of a #1 rating should be a day 1 starter.

I don't know why that question would be construed as cootish.

Absolutely, Wilkens and Ferrell could possibly leave after this year which would leave a lot of spots open. The kid is a freak of nature running a 4.6 at 265 lbs and already has the strength to play at this level. there are few knocks on him.

This definition of what a 5 Star Athlete is explains a lot

(Rare prospects: 100-90 [Five stars] These players demonstrate rare abilities and can create mismatches that have an obvious impact on the game. These players have all the skills to take over a game and could make a possible impact as true freshmen. They should also push for All-America honors with the potential to have a three-and-out college career with early entry into the NFL draft.)
Pretty much means you're gonna be a starter.

I think it all depends on who sticks around. As talented as he is, there will be grown men with playing experience ahead of him when he steps on campus, but if he's the beast we all hope I definitely see him playing a lot, just maybe not the 1st snap starter.

That was my point behind asking that question. If Bryant, who is at SDE, sticks around i can't see XT as a day 1 bona-fide starter. Clelin is at WDE so unless XT crosstrains at that spot i wouldn't expect him to slide over there. Then how do the guys who have been in the program develop....kelly, williams who were highly rated themselves.

He is way more talented than Bryant. They would at the very least split reps evenly

He's a freak of nature. Rare strength, speed and intelligence.
Watch his film and also watch his opening films.
Really, really big guys just can't handle his moves and his strength.

He's 2 deep day one. Starting depends on who leaves and who's developed. I would put him at about 90% odds of starting. He is already big enough and fast enough to play in college. Still has a year to get a little bigger too.

With that kind of talent, speed, size, etc. He'll start.
As far as players leaving early, I think their might be a few who stay the full four, honestly I hope they all do, but that's dreaming. The truth is though, Dabo puts a lot of emphasis on these guys graduating. For example, all of the players going to the draft this year, they all graduated. As noted by Jadar Johnson's mom, and others, they like to see their kid graduate, then go to the NFL. We'll see, I hope more stay, than to leave early due to draft prospects their sophomore or junior year. But, that's just coming from a fan also that wants to see a full line of DT, DE's ready for rotation. As we can see back in NCP in 15', Shaq needed someone to come in for Him. Being Deep, is a good problem to have, and I think Dabo and most parents like it that way. Just my opinion.
