Even though I like to think I have high expectations for all sports, out of these 3, softball being so new would be the 3rd on my list. They have already achieved more than I would have ever thought in this short period of time.

If fans are going to watch and a bunch of money is allotted to them for facilities, coaches, and other things... hellll yes more is expected of them.

Forrest you are hung up on the money. A lot of us pay to be a part of this site. Scary the dollars spent on Clemson sports on this board alone.
Keep in mind everyone may be a huge fan but possibly does not have it like you have it and can’t afford that extra expense.
Lord knows just tickets and parking is outrageous. Will end up pricing people like me out unfortunately.

I used to be off the rails when it comes to being a fan. Older I get I guess I’m chilling out a little. But I do have high expectations for all 3 of those sports.

You left off men's soccer. Haven't won a national title since 2021.
Surely you don't expect more from softball. Either that was typed in error or you mean this all as a joke. Softball can only be three spots higher in the poll.
Baseball used to be a contender, and will be again. New coach; give him time.
Basketball: even for a "football school", I think we ought to be getting to the NCAA tournament 50% of the time or more. Ohio State and Alabama are "football schools", but that doesn't prevent them from success in hoops. We may never supplant Duke and Carolina at the top, but Virginia has won a title more recently than both schools. There's no reason we couldn't consistently be third or fourth in the league and make the big dance 70% of the time. Figure out what's holding us back and fix it.

I was just asking in general for those 3 sports regardless of records or history. Do you have different expectations for any of the 3?

To answer your question.
Softball: really not much more to expect. We have been getting better and better every season. I'm very content with where the program is at in that regard.
Baseball: Yes but not this season while bringing in a new coach and a bullpen flooded with young and inexperienced arms.
Basketball: Yes. If we as fans are not to going to expect more than low level mediocrity, then hang it up for good.

I expect all the teams to perform at their highest level - with recognition that is not the same across the board. So the answer to your question is no, I expect the highest level of performance from all 3 programs and the same from any Clemson team.

It’s funded like a top 3-4 program, but we’ve finished around 15th the last two years.
Maybe we should start by expecting more from it. After all, we are a football school.

Basketball-never historically been great. I started following them closely starting in the mid 2000s. We seemed to be at our best towards the end of the Purnell era. However, he never did well once he led the team to the NCAA tournament. Brownell’s problem is a lack of consistency as we lose games that we shouldn’t. However, he did lead Clemson to the sweet 16 one time.
Baseball- Historically a solid program. Won the conference countless times and been to Omaha several times. Been following closely since the mid 2000s. We should expect more from this group.
Softball- They are writing history right now. They are excelling and are exciting to watch.
