I was wrong about the LSU game. Hats off to our players.

They really came out and played an excellent game, especially the defense. The defense played out of their shoes, all night, with just a few mistakes. They really elevated their game and shut down a powerful team. Kudos to the D.
The coaching wasn't anything special. The offense was lethargic and it didn't seem like Morris learned his lesson from The SC game. Not enough Hot Rod, too much pocket passing, etc. I have no clue why we decided to run Watkins up the gut against such a strong defense - hopefully the coaches learn from that mistake.
Also, we got some help from Les Miles. The LSU fans I know say he out-Dabo'd Dabo. They're right. They had control of the game in the 3rd quarter and were running the ball at will, but for some reason decided to get all pass happy. Nothing will ever explain his decision to throw the ball on 2nd and 3rd down of their last drive. Just a totally boneheaded decision.
Our guys came through and answered the call though and that's all that matters. Outstanding individual efforts by Tajh and Nuk. I really hope both of those guys are back next year.
If we get the recruits on D that we have a chance to get, and Venables continues the improvement on that side of the ball, next year ought to be something special. It might have to be if our coordinators decide to look for HC jobs.
