If you or I were to drive on the median to get around a where the police were tending to a matter & we refused to stop…we would potentially be arrested too. Honest mistake or not, you cannot drive around the police if they have road blocked off.

He thought he was driving around PGA Security .. unfortunately, he quickly realized it was the police .. he’s actually a humble, good guy but everyone makes mistakes, even unknowingly … for the judgmental, practice what you too often “preach” on TNET and “cast the first stone” ..

I believe it was a misunderstanding. He did get charged with 2nd degree assault of a police officer though.

Total overreaction. Based on some comments from other officers on scene they realized the guy was power tripping with the charges especially when they saw it was Scottie and would make national news. 10 yards is just a little longer than car length. If he’d of slammed brakes and flung the officer off in stopping immediately he’d of been charged for that too so it was a lose lose for him. Louisville Metro police are getting national attention a lot lately….

In an unrelated incident hours before his second-round tee time, world No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler was detained by police after a traffic incident near the course's entrance. ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington witnessed the scene, saying "a misunderstanding with traffic flow led to his attempt to drive past a police officer" into the course.
"They told him to stop," Darlington said in an appearance on ESPN. "When he didn't stop, the police officer attached himself to the vehicle. Scheffler then traveled another 10 yards before stopping the car. The police officer then grabbed at his arm attempting to pull him out of the car before Scheffler eventually opened the door, at which point the police officer pulled Scheffler out of the car, pushed him up against the car and immediately placed him in handcuffs."
My take:
Scottie was focused on things other than driving and also a cop got his feelings hurt so he over-reacted. Perhaps Scottie should have someone drive him to the course?

That "traffic incident" was a fatal pedestrian collision involving a bus. The police were trying to work it and he ignored commands to stop when he tried to illegally drive around it. Didn't even stop when an officer tried to stop him. Then proceeded to keep driving with an officer attached to the vehicle. That's incredibly dangerous and why he was charged with assault. IMO he deserved to go to jail because if a regular member of the public would've done that, they also would've taken a ride.

I do/did admit that I jumped the gun on 'dumb' as I don't know him. But the rest if true, another athlete got arrested. 100% the truth. It was also tongue in cheek - but factual - to mock those on here as if it was an nba player, or most NFL guys, or whatever? Yes.
Other than that stuff, not sure what you're referring to when I said what I said.

I suppose you think he just should have floored it, hit speeds in excess of 100 mph, and refuse to pull over. That’s the way the “real” athletes handle it. Then claim the police are racist, and demand money removed from all police forces. Yea…..that works well.
