maybe. who knows what they’re capable of. But I believe they should work their way up to the top to see if they have what it takes to be a Major D1 coach and not just get the job handed to them.

Dabo has been on autopilot for a couple of years. You can't be complacent and win a championship. If Clemson was not capable of a title, that's fair, just try for a bowl. But we were there, perennial contender, and Dabo dropped the ball. If Streeter was fired tomorrow, no Power 5 team would snap him up. He was a "loyalty" hire. That's great if you're just trying to be a bowl team. But it's not good enough for the fans, who want to be continual contender. We need to stop the BS of putting relatives on the football roster, promoting mediocre coaches, looking for the cameras for shot at fame. We need a strong AD that gives head coaches a kick in the rear when they lose their way (or fire basketball coaches that have yucked it up for 12 years).

The game has changed quite a bit in the last 2-3 years in a direction Dabo was definitely against. The portal with no restrictions and NIL are things he would rather not have. The expansion of the playoff is also something he didn’t care for because it makes it less special. Now throw on replacing both co Offensive Coordinators and the Defensive Coordinator on top of that the last three years and you have a completely different landscape than what he built a powerhouse for. Maybe he doesn’t want to do what others will in this environment. Maybe he values his culture over where everything is headed. It will be interesting to see over the next 2-3 years if he changes his direction. However, one of the programs sayings is “Wrong is wrong, even if everybody does it. Right is right even if nobody does it.”

I'm pretty happy with Goodwin.
Streater will never win one if he keeps calling plays like he did last night.

Who knows what the future holds for them??

As of right now Streeter appears to be what most of us thought he would be - a continuation of the same offense that has gotten somewhat predictable and stale over the last 5 or so years. The biggest difference is we were still able to make this predictable offense work to our benefit with the talents of TL16, Tee Higgins, Amari Rodgers, and Cornell Powell. As such Dabo has seen no need for a change in scheme. For the last two years, however, we have not had an all world QB complemented by frisbee catching dog receivers and the results have been less than stellar. If our particular offensive scheme requires exceptional talent in order consistently produce good results on the field, then perhaps we need to look at changing the scheme up a bit.
I think the jury is still out on Goodwin. One thing is for sure - the defense has not shown the same zeal and fire as those defenses under BV. I'm about ready to conclude that either our front 7 (and their depth) is NOT what is being touted by the "experts" (i.e. all NFL talent) OR Goodwin is consistently not getting the production out of these guys that he should. What concerns me about Goodwin is that if we are only getting average to good results with this depth of future NFL talent on defense - then what is going to happen when Goodwin doesn't have all this NFL talent at his disposal?
Goodwin is still learning how to be an on field coach - the fact that he is the DC on top of that challenge is making things even more difficult. For better or worse, players generally reflect the intensity of their coaches and right now that seems to be missing on defense. I sure hope Goodwin is a quick learner and starts breathing and spitting fire because right now that head-hunting, killer instinct seems to have left the program the moment BV moved to Norman.

The only difference is that I don't think Wes is ready at this point in time. Will he be? Maybe but like you said, this DL is going to look a lot different next year.
Also the LBs have regressed. Seriously don't know with what's going on with Simpson but he's been playing horribly on that side and teams are exploiting it.
So if we can't stop the NDs of the world for rushing for nearly 300 yards then how are we going to do that next year?
