Texas does not need a kid's name to increase the fan base and support they have. Waste of time talking about high school kids until they suit it up with the big boys and then the strong will survive and the wanna be players will hit the Portal.

Looks good on film, but that's only the highlights.
His grandpa is a real class act, just like his uncle's. I expect him to do well, and Dabo would not have offered due to hype. We shall see when he shows up at Texas. Nowhere to hide on the field.
I wish him the best, just like DJ5; but it is different when the whistle blows.....

Texas has money, facilities and a massive fan base. They've also had a garbage team for the last 15+ years.
They need star power to bring the fans for ticket sales and give relevancy to their sub-par team before joining the SEC.

Didn't Dabo give him an offer? Doubt he would do that based

on the kid's last name. So seriously doubt he's a high 3 star recruit.

I agree, he played in a private school league which he was never able to win state, never hit the camp circuit to compete with other blue chip QBs and against elite defenders. I have no idea how any of these sites have rated him so high.

It’s an odd situation because, most of the time when a guy

plays in an obscure league against inferior competition and hasn’t shown up at any camps, the recruiting services are prone to grade him low because of absence of evidence to the contrary.
Here we have a kid who fits the above description in every respect except his name recognition and yet the services are head over heels for him.
Strange!
Now as others have said, Dabo certainly pushed hard for him, so as Clemson fans we have to feel that Manning’s credentials are stronger than what he has exhibited in actual competition.
Time will tell if he’s the next Trevor Lawrence or the next Jimmy Clausen ... r just somewhere in between.

From the highlights I've seen of him...

Arch should do very well in college. Not sure he has the package to be a big-time prospect for the NFL, but mentally he's WAY ahead of the game and his arm talent is more than adequate for college.
People just want to put the guy down because of his last name and all the hype. If emotions are removed from the equation, IMO, it's clear he will excel in college.
The guy has been picked apart and over-analyzed. Does anybody besides this guy see Arch as a 3-star?

The pressure on him will be unbelievable with all the hype. I hope he can handle it.

I have heard a lot of hype about him and seen some of his game film. But I have not heard as many comments made about him like those that were made about Trevor Lawrence and DeShaun Watson as can’t miss rare once in a generation talent. In fact I heard more hype about TL than I did about DW. Tiger fans know what they accomplished. If I had to pick the best all around QB in my generation my vote would go to Trevor Lawrence. IMO he has been the best QB to ever play for Clemson.
Even though AM did not select Clemson, I wish him much success at Texas. I don’t believe he would have achieved success at the same level of success at Clemson as DW and TL achieved.
If Texas wins a NC, IMO it will be because of the NIL money and the player’s Texas Oil $$$$$ will bring to Texas. Personally, I don’t feel that Texas will win a NC while Arch Manning is there. Just because his last name is Manning does not guarantee success as a college player. I believe Arch could be more of a distraction affecting what he may could have accomplished in college. Even with NIL and the TP, you still need talent surrounding your QB. It’s still a team sport. Another factor to consider, can Manning handle the pressure of living up to his family name “Manning”. There will be tremendous pressure for him to succeed on the football field.
I can’t say for sure but it’s possible Dabo feels the same way. Dabo is a really Smart HC evaluator of talent. Did Dabo backed off of Arch Manning because he got his guy, Christopher Vizzina.? A very talented QB o believe that Clemson can win another NC with.
I would really appreciate comments from other Tigernet members and your opinion’s about AM’s recruitment. TNetters who are more in the know than I am about Clemson’s recruiting of AM and Dabo’s recruitment of AM.
Everyone have a great up coming weekend!
