Some options that I've discovered:
- Order online from Apple. Delivers in 7-10 days
- Call local Apple store and asked to be put on waiting list. They receive deliveries late each night, and will sometimes hold one from you
- Buy a white one. Some stores still have white ones available
- Buy one with 3G. They have better availability than Wifi only
- Buy a larger one than the 16gb. More availability in higher prices
- Tell the USCe grad behind the counter that you'll pay him $200 in confederate money to hold one
- Buy a regular iPad
