I have decided that Bananaball is good for Clemson basketball.

Clemson athletics was wise to bring the Bananas to Death Valley and cash in on the brand.
I'm told by people who know people that Clemson's take from Saturday's bacchanalia will be in the $250k range. And that's not even counting beer and bauble sales.
Seeing as that's the case, I hope the Bananas become an annual event at Clemson.
$250k buys a lot of mid-major basketball players, for one thing. And another thing is Bananaball may offer a way for the basketball program to finally wean itself financially from the football program. Let's hope CBB can negotiate such a long-term agreement in the coming six years.
The opportunity is there.
And, as the ACC increasingly pivots to football and away from basketball, Clemson must continue to dominate the football landscape. Being asked to underwrite the basketball program undercuts this effort.
And since we all agree America is just a better place to be when Clemson football wins, allowing Coach Swinney to finally focus 100% on football instead of dividing his time between it and basketball is the best possible outcome.
Rising waters lift all ships.
Go Tigers.

The average price of Banana Ball tickets are $80.00 multiply that by 81,000 fans and the total is $6,480,000. I hope Clemson’s cut of that is more than $250,000.

That is ridiculous. Any money earned by an athletic event event goes into the Athletic Department account and is a totally separate thing from NIL. Your attempt to belittle the basketball program failed miserably.

All athletics revenue/spend data is readily available.
But the bad news is getting to the data requires one to have a pair of opposable thumbs and a non-lissencephalic brain.
Sorry.

Since the Bananas topped our average 2024 football game attendance

I’m thinking we should play some more neutral site football games this fall to allow more time for the Bananas to play baseball in Memorial Stadium.
It would be good for our entire athletic department, football included.

Imagine how much more football could carry basketball if we had more fan support at Death Valley.

I've been in talks with Neff about not only doing what you're suggesting, but, finding a way to convert Littlejohn into a suitable indoor baseball arena.
Bringing the Bananas to Littlejohn would make a nice to treat for the many loyal, long-suffering basketball fans who so rarely have a reason to pack the house.
