Tonight is somewhat depressing

Jan 11, 2021, 11:09 PM

Unless you think about where we were 15 years ago. Dabo and company have truly turned Clemson into a powerhouse. We had a rough night against Ohio state yes but we’ve been to 6 straight playoffs and won 6 straight conference titles. I dreamed of a 10 win season 15 years ago and now we have 10 in a row. We had a injury filled year but we didn’t have a normal spring and summer practices or workouts and I think that played a huge factor in that. The plus is we grew a ton of depth and literally bring everyone back on defense and they we be nasty next year because they’ll have all off-season to learn and grow. Offensively we lose a legendary qb but he’s not being replaced by someone who is green and not talented. We also lose a legendary rb but I think we have enough experienced backs that there’ll be a couple that rise to the top and will be very useful. Hopefully Ross can come back and play and add in ngata and ladsen along with a much improved ej Williams who will grow physically and mentally during the off-season. Then the te’s will be loaded with Galloway, Allen and Luke price who was a stud in run blocking. Oline yes we stunk this year but we have the whole off-season to figure things out. All in all it’s great to be a tiger fan right now and we aren’t just hoping to beat our rival every year now we hope to win our conference and the natty. Anyways GO TIGERS!!!

I remember sitting in the Valley against Wake Forest and leaving disappointed. You are so correct.

don't remind us please about the horrors of playing Wake Forest in the early 2000's...one of the worst away games ever going to in my 44 years of attending Clemson games was that 45-17 loss in Winston Salem in 2003

Our OL and DL development is the key. I think we have the players but both those units need to improve. If Ross is back and DJ is ready we will be fine.

Agree with everything except the depression. I am truly enjoying this best down. The OSU fans can bray about their 1-4 record against us, but thankfully we will not have to listen to what would have been an insufferable OSU fan base during their summer migration to our shores.

I agree with your assessment of the team. No shortage of talent for the coaches to work with in the offseason. I’m just not convinced that the talent is there in the offensive line. A couple of transfers would really help but that isn’t likely to happen. I wouldn’t want to be a running back unless some major improvements happen. Spring ball will be fun with a LOT of work ahead for a number of guys.

Oooo and at least we don’t have Shane Beamer as a head coach who can’t even manage to field coaches. The coots will continue their glorious run on the football field for years to come. All I got to say is GO TIGERS AND RAY TANNER keep up the good work. LOL
