Anybody here use the WalmartPlus service?

I'm guessing it is to compete with Amazon a bit, but in addition to free shipping it also offers free grocery delivery(usually same day).
I did a comparison to the regular grocery store we use, a Harris Teeter, taking 20 regular staple items we purchase, from coffee to trash bags to milk. The difference in price between the two stores was roughly $90 vs $112 for the same items. If Walmart offers free delivery with the Walmart Plus service, I'd be saving the $22 bucks and saving the gas, as well as the shopping time since it is quicker to order online than to paruse the aisles.
The Walmart service costs either $98 dollars per year or $12.99 per month, but I probably use 10 bucks per month just driving to the grocery store.
There has to be a catch. Can somebody please point out the drawback to this service before I pull the trigger on a membership?
BTW, I don't work for Walmart, am not trying to sell anything here.

Had it, and dropped it

In 3 deliveries I had: 1. One show up and deliver to the wrong house. Took a 25 min phone call and screaming to get them to redeliver. 2. One delivery had all the refrigerated and frozen goods out for a very long time and were warm upon arrival. A half gallon of ice cream was completely 100% liquid. I was assured after calling that the meat and cold items were kept cold… by someone who wasn’t at the store and never saw the groceries. 3. One delivery has the postmates delivery person “forget” a few bags in his car.
That was it. Their people also suck at picking out produce. I’ll pay for decent groceries and go get them myself. Not worth the headache.

Getting good, not over ripe, produce is risky!! Buyer beware. I've seen these professional shoppers get bent cans and keep going. I'll do my own shopping whether Walmart, Kroger, Publix, etc.

Makes sense. I also expect they would pull the date closest

to expiration for dairy products. Still, seems pretty good for other basic staples.

Agreed. You think for one minute they look through the window of a pack of bacon for example to get the best looking with less fat? Nah. I'll keep picking out my own food. lol.

We use it. For the most part very pleased. We only live about 2 miles from the walmart so that may be a factor. There have been times that we ordered the generic brand and they were out so they substituted the more expensive name brand. They let you know if there are out of something. Usually timely and correct.

No Thanks. I'll keep supporting my other local grocery stores like Food Lion, Ingles and Publix. Can do just as well or better by shopping the sales like BOGO items. Don't like someone else picking out my groceries and making my choices either.

If you don’t go to the Harris Teeter in person, you won’t be able to see soccer moms in leggings/yoga pants. That can be worth the extra $$.
