This rule, if implemented would absolutely spike energy costs at best, and make power availability spotty and unreliable at worst. This is too transparently bad to be poorly thought out—it actually must be well thought out as to its ultimate effects.
So combine this with a rapid push to ban ICE vehicle sales, and what do you get? A large portion of rural (red) America, with untenable energy costs and vehicles they can’t afford to charge, if they can even afford to buy them. Those same people will ultimately have no choice but to resettle in urban areas, becoming evermore dependent upon government services, and all in the name of BS climate initiatives.
This is all by design, and i have to think that if you really think about it, it’s willful ignorance to ignore or deny it.

When multiple head scratching policies start fitting together in a neat puzzle, it gets hard to keep thinking “coincidence”.

I've always found it odd that brown migrants would come to such a racist country.

I don't like this policy and don't think the Feds should be regulating "climate pollution" (but only actual pollution).
That said, those of us living in sustainable communities have been subsidizing the suburban populations for years -- no tears shed from me if these moochers in mcmansions have to pay their fair share for their largesse.

Retire coal plants. Convert to NG, Nuclear and Renewables

The irrational fear and high cost of Nuclear is unfounded and unfortunate. Natural gas is an also a viable alternative.
The coal lobby prevents proper prioritization of environmental/ energy policy initiatives.

Can't us NG for pretty much anything in California already. If a commercial property changes hands and has natural gas to it, PG&E will more than likely not allow you to open a new account. New construction cannot use gas unless it's a hospital.
Everyone else, .Gov is here to save you from the evils of climate change.

Yep. Three-Mile Island played into worst fears and ground nuclear power to a halt. (And South Carolina stopped taking the waste, didn't it!) It's unfortunate.
France is 68% nuke. We should be more like France!

somebody is clearly selling someone a story that this level of base load generation can be made up by renewables and it can't...at least not right now.
