How do we think he’s doing after that play. I know apart of our culture is putting it in the rear view mirror, but he’s still 18. And I’m sure he might have blamed himself for the L, but it’s totally not on him alone. Hoping he will become a lot better from this.

I'm sure he's blaming himself, but.......

of all the issues and plays that happened in the game he wouldn't be on a list of 100 reasons we lost..............I'm not convinced we even get into FG range from the 50 anyway.
he's obviously gonna take it harder than anyone, but the game wasn't lost by him.

I don’t think it’s on him at all. Was a tough break but this guy has balled out. Anyone with a functioning brain cell knows the offense couldn’t have moved into FG range. Even for Potter.

I agree. DJU wasn't going to move that team the 20+ yards...

Needed to get in realistic field goal range. How anyone can continue to say he is our best option at this point is beyond me... simply because it would be virtually IMPOSSIBLE for another QB to be worse than him.

I think he owns it and has a career day against UNC and I will be right there watching it live!

Had he not fumbled that ball

I have little confidence that our offense could have gotten us in FG range, even for Potter. I doubt they could have even gotten a first down. We would likely have still lost.

Based on how the offense played the second half, up to then, why would anyone (except Dabo) think that we could even get a first down (unless Cade had been put in, which was not going to happen).

We wouldn't be 10-2 without him. He's our best WR and PR.***

Not all on him. A defender made a play, punched the ball from behind. That happens.

I didn’t go back and watch but saw somewhere it was the TE for Carolina that made that awesome catch.. heck of a game by a guy labeled as a blocking TE

Good question; thanks for asking!
I hope and I pray he is doing alright. I "know" he has gotten a ton of support and encouragement; but he's a warrior-dawg! He will take it hard and be hard on himself. I still think he needs everybody's support 100% even with all that.
I agree with the consensus here: the dang defense scored 9 direct points with zero offensive players on the field. That fumble did not lose the game for us. Not at all. What are the stats if your defense scores a TD? it's some stupid high percent. Yet, we couldn't follow that up with enough points. The defense even did better than the 1 TD; they managed a safety as well.
Keep your head up Antonio a.k.a #1A option on offense(Ship).

And took a touchdown away with the pick in the end zone so credit defense for 12-16 points really

I hope he hasn’t even thought about it again. Dude’s a gamer. Not like he tried the throw a forward pass that just fell out of his hand.

Fortunately, no comments I have read are blaming him at all, which is good to see. He has been one of the few bright spots this year on offense along with Shipley and friends in the backfield. I've also been pleased with our TEs and the OL is better than last year. QB and the other WRs have been the biggest disappointment.

Antonio Williams did not lose the game…..our coaches along with DJ’s made sure that was accomplished long before Williams lost that fumble!

It wasn't like he just dropped the ball. The kid from Carolina made a good play. In fact, that kid #44 had really good game all around. Did not have a clue who he was until Saturday. I hope Williams realizes that it was one play in a very good Freshman season. It certainly was not the reason we lost the game.
