QBs should NOT be running as part of the offense in the NFL. He got squashed, and now will miss at least several weeks, if not the rest of the season with a bad shoulder injury.

QBs are always going to scramble, but DESIGNED running plays for a QB in a league with players as big and fast and hard hitting as the NFL are just asking for these type injuries. Richardson thought he was a tough guy coming into the league, but it didn't taken long at all for him to be jolted into reality.

Even when a QB "slides" to give himself up, guys are still taking cheap shots, even though they will be flagged for it. I think that is a penalty that should carry an immediate ejection in the NFL. No place for someone intentionally trying to cause injury.

Cam's essentially career-ending shoulder injury came from a combination of two hits, both on passing plays. In 2016, he made an awkward tackle on a defender who intercepted a pass after Kelvin Benjamin stopped on a route, and in 2018 Carolina left TJ Watt completely unblocked and he basically speared Cam's AC joint just as he was starting to bring his arm forward for a throw.

It was wild after that also Cam started wearing dresses and big hats.

And, Cam Newton is a BIG DUDE, far more physically imposing

than most QBs. So, if HE couldn't survive doing that stuff, normal sized guys ought to take notes.
