Might I ask two questions, as you seem to be so up on statistics?
Can you tell me the percentages of the total US population that are:
1) White
2) White 'dudes'?
Call me off base here, but perhaps the 'proportional relationship' may be a little more telling than the 'total' numbers...
... but I could be wrong.

Yes, the little girl is still dead - she may not care who killed her. I'm not sure I've ever read that anyone has ever conducted a study to see if the dead really cared who killed them either. But I am quite certain those left behind contemplate the action, and the "what if's" about the whole incident - like, "what if the person who killed my daughter had not been here to begin with?"
Perhaps they might even ask this question, "Why don't people care how, and why, this happened to my daughter? Why don't they ask themselves if this could have been avoided - and can it be prevented from happening again?"
But, who cares? Right?
