So this Justyn Ross situation is bizarre to say the least. Not going to try to let out any of my opinions on this matter, but I am just curious what you think.
Justyn has “plead” not guilty. And we of course still don’t know much. Maybe the girl had framed Justyn claiming she was drug through the house. Good Lord who knows.
But how do you feel about Andy Reid embracing Justyn through this? If it’s true and he is guilty, that is an awful thing that’s happened.
Also, if this situation occurred when Ross was at Clemson, I feel like Dabo would’ve gotten rid of him before he was even indicted of anything. Regardless if he was not guilty. I don’t know maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t know if Dabo would have as long of a leash as Andy Reid does about this situation.
I understand it’s a professional organization, but I don’t think Justyn should be involved on the team until this is figured out.

sons getting in trouble, that he knows that people make mistakes and he's supportive and will give folks a chance to redeem themselves.
I certainly don't like that it happened but would want to play for a coach that had my back even if he didn't agree with my poor decisions.

Was Dabo coach when the DeAndre McDaniel stuff happened?

Or was that Bowdens last year?
That was a fairly similar situation and he somehow managed to avoid suspension after completing PTI. That was 15ish years ago though - if it had happened today he likely would've gotten a much more severe punishment.

That happened in June before the 2008 season. Bowden was fired during that upcoming season. So I think Bowden handled most of that.
Of course if Justyn or any player that goes through this may not be guilty. But I think they should at least be cut off for the time being.
It’s bad energy to the locker room in my opinion.

So, guilty until proven innocent is your stance?
Each incident has to be judged on its own merits. The Chiefs organization has a lot more information than you do, and they are making a decision based on that information. In current culture, domestic abuse is a headline and if it's obvious that Ross is guilty of that, they would suspend or cut him.

We had a player nearly kill someone because of reckless driving and he remained on the team.
I seriously doubt dabo would kick someone off the team before due process.

Since we do not know the whole story, it is pointless taking a shot at Coach Reid.

I applaud Andy Reid for what he did.

It easy these days with “me too” and a (justifiably) increased awareness of women being treated poorly by men to assume that Justyn is guilty. However, I bet Reid spoke with Justyn and got his side of the story, and after gathering pertinent info decided to support Justyn while things play out in court.
That takes guts, and I applaud it.

Yeah, I agree with that.
I want to translate this to the transfer portal conundrum with Dabo.
I don’t think anybody wants to write specifically about it, but it just appears surface level that he has certain values that do not line up with the portal. Which sort of involves some behavior chaos which I think is what Dabo does not want. As well as sticking even with 2 and 3 stars on the team that could be replaced by high level players from elsewhere. In fact, I do not think we have ever obtained a JUCO player. Which heavily involves players who were kicked off their previous team. That sort of shows something about Dabo’s attitude.
Dabo has been forgiving with players, like Andrew Booth after Louisville. But at times he didn’t put up with it. And I just honestly feel that Dabo would’ve made Justyn sit until this was figured out. Just because of the uncertainty in the locker room due to no indictment yet. That plays a role.
It appears that Dabo has been seesawing between his true beliefs/values for Clemson, and what is the clear best thing for actual success. Between NIL and the portal, between forgiving a player and not like TJ Dudley, etc.
This isn’t about wanting Dabo to take more transfers, I just wish he would realize that doing the best method success for your team in the modern day doesn’t mean you can’t involve commitment, faith, etc. into that method. He seems closed-minded to this currently.

Did you even read the quotes? You keep saying things like “uncertainty in the locker room”, while Reid has said the team is lifting him up and the locker room is a brotherhood.

Stereotyping every portal player as a quitter, attitude problem, or selfish

Well, hopefully he’s considered innocent until proven guilty. It’s great his coach and team supports him through the process however, if guilty.. you pay the piper ..
