So, after hearing so many of you talk so fondly of him, I went back and read the archives of some of his old posts and some of your posts and tributes.
What I read was something...
This man made his mark on many of lives, and he really made an impact with a lot of you. From his tailgating stories to many of your stories meeting him at tailgates and in NY, the drinking stories, and just everything I read. This man really made an impact on a lot of lives. I believe I read something about "Vomit Palooza" or something, lol. This man really seemed to capture the meaning of life.
I hope one day I can be remembered as fondly as this man is still remembered. If there truly was a Hall of Famer on T-Net, he is certainly at the top of that list based on how fondly he is remembered.
I truly enjoyed going back to reading some of those posts he made and you all made about him. Many of them made me laugh out loud.

food, 'cause we never met up again. He owes me and I expect a full payback.
Never been a guy that was a friend before I met him. And up until his passing, he was concerned about Mama G who had fallen and injured her kneecap similar to his injury.
A true Lounge Legend. His last post just fit - something like, "that was quite a run". He was chasing his dog I think, but it really had much deeper meaning obviously to all of us.

My favorite memory: I went to the Wake Forest game in Winston Salem in 2003. You remember that debacle. 45-17. Charlie threw two pick sixes to the same linebacker.
But beforehand, we had one ####### hell of a tailgate despite Wake officials trying to tell us we were starting too early. Threw back a ton of beer and bourbon with Celtic and Chick. Somehow, we met Derrick Hamilton's uncle and Celtic and I broke it down with him (can't remember what song it was; I was pretty drunk).
In spite of the horrible game, afterwards, it was still a good time. I was stupid drunk and very young, but Celtic was always welcoming and truly embraced the attitude of "the more, the merrier." Twenty years later, I try to be the same way with people I meet.
He was truly a gregarious person and made you feel like the most important person in the room. Or I guess, the tailgate.

There aren't many like him...he cared about everybody and I doubt very seriously he ever met anyone that didn't become a friend. His tailgate was every bit as important as any of the actual football games ever were. Once you entered his orbit, you were part of the family. It was a great honor for me to call him a good friend, he was truly the glue that held the Lounge together.
