It's twice as hard to get into Clemson than USuC, therefore the state produces twice the number of coots.
I would be curious, though, if this poll were conducted in, say....2007, what the result would have been. Many coots are bandwagoners with no real affiliation other than a love of ####.

Thats funny I seen a report maybe 3 weeks ago that had Clemson in the top 10 as far as fans and people who follow and the coots were nowhere to be found. This was a trust worthy source I think it was Business Journal or something like that and they went into detail what y'all are looking at is a poll which 20 people took at 5-points in Columbia.... If you are wondering it was well over 1,000,000,000 fans/followers which was 10th in the nation so take it for what it is and I will see if I can find it again and post a link......

You actually have to be smart to get into CLEMSON. SUC just requires a pulse. It's perfectly logical to understand that there are more people in SC that just have a pulse, than the ones that are actually smart.
