I once did some research and confirmed that Clemson @ Duke happens as the first ACC game far more often than chance would have it. The ACC scheduling office seems to go out of its way to ensure that Clemson @ Duke gives the Blue Devils the opening game advantage.

I mean Clemson @ Duke is almost never on Feb 1, in the middle of the season.

Compared to same Clemson vs. FSU or Ga Tech or any other random ACC matchup, which do not seem to happen at any particular time or pattern.

We are not the doormats of the ACC anymore. We were ranked in the preseason with a veteran ball club. You ever think that reason why the game was scheduled at prime time at 8pm because these are two upper echelon teams in the ACC that deserves that time slot?

At least the kids aren't back in school, yet, so a tad less 'crazy'?

Regardless, my optimism over this game is linked to staying with ten points. Any closer will be a very welcomed surprise and, most of all, would suggest the team is finding its' chemistry. And a 'W'...give me smelling salts! ;)
