Worst call in college football...

Pete Yanity is awful. His touchdown call is terrible.
But, I hope I hear it early and often throughout the season.

one of the worst expression IMO in football announcing - I still don't know who in the world thought Pete Yannity should be our announcer - he's terrible.

I suspect he was cheap and nearby. Plus we were reeling with the loss of JP. It wasn't a planned thing or a national search situation

Almost everyone liked Jim's voice and call. The thing most

complained about was his occasional problem getting the down and distance correct. He would get so excited that he would fumble details at times.
The days of great radio calls are long gone nationwide for all major sports, college and pro. Nobody really cares too much anymore because nobody is really listening. Over much of Jim's career, he told the story of many Clemson games for many, many fans. Until the late 80's/early 90's there were many games only available on radio. Today, there might be two games a year at most not on television, and those are likely home games against someone like Furman or The Citadel. Pretty much every road game is on TV nowadays, with a game at Duke being the only exception.

I like it too.
But when your defense is on the goal line, the phrase can also apply...and that's never good, lol.
