It's very common for Republican politicians and their voters to insult, disparage, and generally bad mouth areas of the country that lean more blue. They not only insult cities, but the people that live in them. And they pretend that bluer areas are hellscapes. You saw Tuberville talking ill about NYC the other day. MTG has done that, as have others in the GOP. On this board, just today you see people making cracks about NoVa and DC. They literally try and "other" blue areas entirely, as if those areas are un-American.
The opposite is not true nearly to the same degree. I don't think you would ever see Chuck Schumer make fun of rural Alabama or a red area in Oklahoma, for instance.
It's strange how Republicans do this, and then wonder amongst themselves why they don't poll better in metro areas around the country.

why not go ahead and implement some of her agenda by posting your name and address here?
“Every person on social media should be verified, by their name. That’s, first of all, it’s a national security threat,” Haley said Tuesday on Fox News, because it can spread misinformation. Banning anonymous accounts would get “rid of the Russian bots, the Iranian bots and the Chinese bots,” she continued. On the Ruthless podcast that day, Haley reiterated her pitch: “They need to verify every single person on their outlet, and I want it by name.”

I've heard that it's something Giuliani did in New York.

That sounds right, about Giuliani. I don't know what Trump said about it. I was surprised that you thought that part of Cata's post was false, but I guess it was, in the sense that you don't have a position on the issue.

I wonder if Time thinks there are ultra leftist groups in the US. And CPAC isn't "Ultra Conservative", whatever that means.
Anyway, I don't favor using the National Guard for regular policing.

You asked for a link proving that he said that as a promise. I provided it.
So are you going to be as adamantly against this form of federal government overreach as you were about Nikki's proposal? What are you going to say if Trump is elected and does just that?

as this is extreme, the interweb needs to be regulated in some form. The interweb is unregualted and congress won't touch it due to the $$$ from lobbyist. Need a license to drive, buy cigs and alcohol, etc.? Should kids have easy access to ####? well, they do

example, please. So, you're OK with kids and adults being addictive to algorithms that direct them to content negatively affects their lives? Kids are reckless on the internet, even the perfect kids (in their parents eyes)

But the cure is worse than the disease.
Infinitely worse.
To be clear, you favor govt requiring every social media platform to get the actual ID data for everyone who uses them on the internet?

"Is" the cure worse than the disease? The addiction to the internet is at epidemic proportion in our youth. Was helping out with my youth church group lately and the rule is, put your phone in the pouch and you'll get it back at the end of the night, 1.5 hours. And there were multiple kids who couldn't do something so simple.
"every social media platform to get the actual ID data for everyone " = No, why would you allow those platforms to have that data? heck, they already have it anyway. They can tell you more about a person than the gov.
But there has to be a way to have a digital ID to protect kids and society from all the stupidity. How do you protect the kids? Heck, back in the day you had to have an ID to buy pron, unless you stole it. Now, all you need is internet access.
Thank goodness the internet wasn't around when I was a kid.

There are plenty of ways to keep kids "safe" online already. ###### parents just refuse to regulate what their kids are given access to. That shouldn't be used as an excuse for the govt to overreach into the private lives of everyone else. And if you think this push is really about protecting kids you're horribly naive.

So it's not the gov who should be keeping the kids safe?
So, it's not the responsibility of social media companies to keep kids safe?
It fall totally on the parents end of store, bad parents everywhere.
So, you have a pre-teen/teen son/daughter who is addicted to pron because a classmate after school share it with them while on the bus ride home. How can a parent protect their kid from this?
Kid's are techno savvy, if there's a will, there's a way. They'll get a burner phone from another kid with wifi access to get around their parent's restrictions.
How many of you have found a device on your network that you do not recognize?
